Congratulations
to design image competition winner – Bracewell Stirling.
Partner,
David Keith who is a keen advocate of the use of Revit said “the images
produced helped ensure that the client fully understood the concept prior to
signing off the design and avoided unexpected surprises once constructed. We
are delighted to have been successful in the TMS competition and the new PC will
be put to good use on projects using Autodesk’s Revit and 3D Studio products”.
And some
background to the project:
The
Poplars will replace an existing 1950s traditional bungalow which has long
since passed its sell by date. The site at Torwood, near Larbert, is set on the
edge of a small village with a woodland backdrop. The design brief was to
deliver a house which has traditional values externally, but provides
contemporary accommodation, with an emphasis on enjoying the southerly aspect
to the private woodland.
David
Keith felt that the reliance upon a simple external envelope with the focus on
volume, daylight, views and interconnecting living spaces could not have been
demonstrated fully without utilising Revit
FYI the
winning image was the ‘dreich’ Scottish version – the sunny one was another
they had done as a contrast.
