BIM: Not Just for New Buildings

Here’s an article looking at Revit’s use on a group of existing buildings.  It’s interesting that even though the client’s estate existed in CAD format, it was decided to re-model all their buildings in Revit.  Creating Revit models let them predict energy use, create maintenance schedules, analyse space usage and even locate signage better.

The success of this process means the original 55 buildings included in the project is likely to be expanded to include all 750 buildings in their portfolio.
